 2018 Preview 


       Hamilton finished the 2017 season with a disappointing 3-7 record. Last year Hamilton just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 4A region six with a 2-4 region record.

       Since 2010, Hamilton has gone a combined 62-31. Their 67.0% winning percentage ranks 10th in Class 5A over the past eight seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Hamilton has managed to compile a record of 178-98. Their 64.0% winning percentage ranks 11th in Class 5A and 63rd in the AHSAA.




       The Aggies are led by head coach Rodney Stidham who is entering his fourteenth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 101-50 over the past thirteen seasons at Hamilton. Under his direction the Aggies have qualified for the playoffs a total of ten times. They have won four region crowns with Coach Stidham.

       Coach Stidham's overall record as a head football coach in fourteen season stands at 102-57 (64.2%). His 102 wins rank 59th among active coaches in the AHSAA. Over the course of his career, Coach Stidham's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of ten times and won four region championships.

       The Hamilton Aggies will play in Class 5A region seven during the 2018 season. The Aggies move up in classification to Class 5A. They may find the going slightly tougher with the move.

       With a little luck and some improvement, the Aggies could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region seven this season. Hamilton missed the playoffs the past couple of seasons but hope to return to the post season in 2018.

       The Aggies open the 2018 season on the road against non-region opponent Cordova on Friday, August 31 at Hudson/Kirby Stadium. Last year the Cordova Blue Devils finished with an overall record of 4-7 and in third place in Class 4A region six. The Blue Devils lost in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs to Wilson by a score of 35-8.

       Hamilton and Cordova have met a total of 18 times on the football field. The Aggies have a 11-7-0 record against the Blue Devils. They last met in 2017 with Cordova winning by a score of 34-28.

Thomasville scored 54 points against Gulf Shores in the first quarter of a game in 2003. They managed to hang on for an 81-14 win.
