 2018 Preview 


       Corner completed the 2017 season with a 5-6 record. With their 3-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 5A region six, the Yellow Jackets earned a spot in the playoffs in 2017. Corner's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Mae Jemison by a score of 44-0.

       Since 2010, Corner has gone a combined 39-45. Their 46.0% winning percentage ranks 34th in Class 5A over the past eight seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Corner has managed to compile a record of 108-140. Their 44.0% winning percentage ranks 39th in Class 5A and 243rd in the AHSAA.




       The Yellow Jackets will be under the direction of new head football coach John Clements as they enter the 2018 season.

       The Corner Yellow Jackets will play in Class 5A region seven during the 2018 season. Following realignment, the Yellow Jackets remain in 5A but move from region six over to region seven.

       The Yellow Jackets will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region seven this season.

       The Yellow Jackets open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent Northside on Friday, August 24 at Corner Stadium. Last year the Northside Rams finished with an overall record of 9-2 and in second place in Class 4A region four. The Rams lost in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs to Alabama Christian by a score of 33-28.

       Corner and Northside have met a total of 4 times on the football field. The Yellow Jackets have a 2-2-0 record against the Rams. They last met in with
