Dothan High completed the 2021 season with a 4-6 record. Last year Dothan High just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 7A region two with a 1-5 region record. The Wolves have never won a playoff game in the school's history. They would like to break through and pick up that first post season victory in 2022. Dothan High was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Wolves want to be competitive. They only averaged 15.7 points a game. Dothan High is a relatively new football program having fielded a team only three seasons. They have managed a record of 14-16 over the past three years. The Wolves will be under the direction of new head football coach Jed Kennedy as they enter the 2022 season. Coach Kennedy served as the Offensive Coordinator at Enterprise in 2021. The Dothan High Wolves will play in Class 7A region two during the 2022 season. The Wolves have one of the toughest schedules in Class 7A. Their opponents had a combined record of 72-44 last season. That ranks 9th in Class 7A and 21st in the AHSAA. With a little luck and some improvement, the Wolves could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region two this season. Dothan High missed the playoffs the past couple of seasons but hope to return to the post season in 2022. The Wolves open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent Carroll on Friday, August 19 at Matthews Stadium. Last year the Carroll Eagles finished with an overall record of 4-7 and in fourth place in Class 5A region two. The Eagles lost in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs to Central Clay County by a score of 41-14. Dothan High and Carroll have met a total of 3 times on the football field. The Wolves have a 3-0-0 record against the Eagles. They last met in 2021 with Dothan High winning by a score of 29-15. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
