 2022 Preview 


       Faith Academy completed the 2021 season with a 7-5 record. With their 4-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 5A region one, the Rams earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Faith Academy lost in the quarter-finals of the playoffs last season to a good Pike Road team by a score of 42-0.

       The Rams had some tough luck last season as three of their five losses were by less than eight points. The Rams hope to get back closer to the 12-2 record in 2020.

       Since 2010, Faith Academy has gone a combined 57-71. Their 44.5% winning percentage ranks 30th in Class 5A over the past twelve seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Faith Academy has managed to compile a record of 141-129. Their 52.0% winning percentage ranks 23rd in Class 5A and 164th in the AHSAA.




       The Rams are led by head coach Jack French who is entering his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 36-13 over the past four seasons at Faith Academy. Under his direction the Rams have qualified for the playoffs a total of four times. They have won one region crown with Coach French.

       Coach French's overall record as a head football coach in thirteen season stands at 99-48 (67.3%). Over the course of his career, Coach French's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of nine times and won one region championship.

       Coach French can top the 100 win milestone early in the season with just one more victory.

       Coach French thinks the Rams have a chance to be very good this season but they play in a very tough region so just surviving region play will be the first goal for the team.

       The Faith Academy Rams will play in Class 5A region one during the 2022 season. The Rams have one of the toughest schedules in Class 5A. Their opponents had a combined record of 64-50 last season. That ranks 5th in Class 5A and 74th in the AHSAA.

       The Rams should be in contention for a playoff spot in region one this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game.

       The Rams open the 2022 season at home against region opponent Elberta on Friday, August 26 at Ram Field. Last year the Elberta Warriors finished with an overall record of 2-8 and in fifth place in Class 5A region one. The Warriors closed out the regular season with a loss to Bayside Academy by a score of 35-27.

       Faith Academy and Elberta have met a total of 5 times on the football field. The Rams have a 5-0-0 record against the Warriors. They last met in 2021 with Faith Academy winning by a score of 49-14.

       Faith Academy returns 5A All-State Senior offensive lineman DaMare Moore. He was named to the honorable mention team last season.
