Holly Pond finished the 2021 season with a disappointing 3-7 record. Last year Holly Pond finished seventh in Class 3A region six with a 1-6 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. The Broncos have never won a playoff game in the school's history. They would like to break through and pick up that first post season victory in 2022. Since 2010, the Holly Pond football program has struggled with a record of 34-90. Over the past 25 seasons, Holly Pond has managed to compile a record of 92-166. Their 36.0% winning percentage ranks 47th in Class 2A and 314th in the AHSAA. The Broncos will be under the direction of new head football coach Chris Moss as they enter the 2022 season. Coach Moss' overall record as a head football coach in eleven season stands at 50-66 (43.1%). Over the course of his career, Coach Moss' teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of five times and won one region championship. The Holly Pond Broncos will play in Class 2A region six during the 2022 season. The Broncos may find the schedule slightly easier this season with the move down in classification from Class 3A to 2A. They will compete in region six this year. With a little luck and some improvement, the Broncos could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region six this season. Holly Pond has failed to qualify for the playoffs since 2018 but hope to return to the post season this year. The Broncos open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent Clements on Friday, August 19 at M.T. Newman Stadium. Last year the Clements Colts finished with an overall record of 4-7 and in fourth place in Class 3A region eight. The Colts lost in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs to Winfield by a score of 62-14. Holly Pond and Clements have met a total of 2 times on the football field.
