 2022 Preview 


       McIntosh finished the 2021 season with a disappointing 3-6 record. Last year McIntosh just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 1A region two with a 2-4 region record.

       The offense struggled putting points on the score board as McIntosh averaged scoring just 12.9 points a game.

       Since 2010, McIntosh has gone a combined 38-84. Their 31.1% winning percentage ranks 47th in Class 1A over the past twelve seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, McIntosh has not won much with a record of 84-170. Their 33.0% winning percentage ranks 51st in Class 1A and 334th in the AHSAA.




       The Demons are led by head coach Roosevelt Moore who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 6-11 over the past two seasons at McIntosh. The Demons have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Moore.

       Coach Moore's overall record as a head football coach in three season stands at 10-17 (37.0%).

       The McIntosh Demons will play in Class 1A region one during the 2022 season. Following realignment, the Demons remain in 1A but move from region two over to region one.

       Overall, the region is among the weakest in the state. Qualifying for one of the playoffs spots could be a little easier. With a little luck and some improvement, the Demons could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region one this season. McIntosh has failed to qualify for the playoffs since 2012 but hope to return to the post season this year.

       The Demons open the 2022 season at home against region opponent Leroy on Friday, September 2 at H.H. Wiggins Field. Last year the Leroy Bears finished with an overall record of 2-8 and in sixth place in Class 2A region one. The Bears closed out the regular season with a loss to Citronelle by a score of 6-2.

       McIntosh and Leroy have met a total of 38 times on the football field. The Demons have a 13-25-0 record against the Bears. They last met in 2015 with Leroy winning by a score of 34-16.
