2022 Preview | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Prattville Christian finished the 2021 season with a disappointing 3-7 record. Last year Prattville Christian finished sixth in Class 3A region three with a 1-5 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. The Panthers have never won a playoff game in the school's history. They would like to break through and pick up that first post season victory in 2022. Prattville Christian was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Panthers want to be competitive. They only averaged 15.2 points a game. The Panthers would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 4-16 record. Since 2010, Prattville Christian has gone a combined 40-87. Their 31.5% winning percentage ranks 51st in Class 3A over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 16 seasons, Prattville Christian has not won much with a record of 50-119. Their 30.0% winning percentage ranks 53rd in Class 3A and 347th in the AHSAA. The Panthers have struggled on the football field with only two winning seasons during this time. Their last winning season was 2010. The Panthers are led by head coach Norman Dean who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 3-7 record in his first season at Prattville Christian. The Panthers saw improvement from a 1-9 record the season before coach Dean arrived. The Panthers have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Dean. Coach Dean's overall record as a head football coach in fourteen season stands at 80-71 (53.0%). Over the course of his career, Coach Dean's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of five times and won one region championship. The Prattville Christian Panthers will play in Class 3A region three during the 2022 season. It will be an uphill battle for the Panthers if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region three this season. The Panthers open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent Billingsley on Friday, August 19 at Mims Field. Last year the Billingsley Bears finished with an overall record of 4-7 and in fourth place in Class 1A region four. The Bears lost in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs to Sweet Water by a score of 49-0. Prattville Christian and Billingsley have met a total of 10 times on the football field. The Panthers have a 3-7-0 record against the Bears. They last met in 2021 with Billingsley winning by a score of 13-0. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
