Sylvania completed the 2021 season with a 8-3 record. With their 5-1 region record and a second place finish in Class 3A region seven, the Rams earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Sylvania's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Piedmont by a score of 40-20. Since 2010, Sylvania has gone a combined 78-54. Their 59.1% winning percentage ranks 22nd in Class 3A over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Sylvania has managed to compile a record of 147-121. Their 55.0% winning percentage ranks 25th in Class 3A and 139th in the AHSAA. The Rams are led by head coach Tyler Vann who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 8-3 record in his first season at Sylvania. The Rams saw improvement from a 5-6 record the season before coach Vann arrived. Under his direction the Rams have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Vann. Last year the Saks Wildcats finished with an overall record of 12-2 and in first place in Class 3A region five. The Wildcats lost in the semi-finals round of the Class 3A playoffs to Piedmont by a score of 52-44. Sylvania and Saks have met a total of 5 times on the football field.
