2022 Preview | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Dale County completed the 2021 season with a 4-6 record. Last year Dale County just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 4A region two with a 3-4 region record. Since 2010, Dale County has gone a combined 67-65. Their 50.8% winning percentage ranks 28th in Class 4A over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Dale County has managed to compile a record of 139-133. Their 51.0% winning percentage ranks 27th in Class 4A and 183rd in the AHSAA. The Warriors are led by head coach Luke Tucker who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 4-6 record in his first season at Dale County. The Warriors have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Tucker. Coach Tucker's overall record as a head football coach in one season stands at 4-6 (40.0%). The Dale County Warriors will play in Class 4A region two during the 2022 season. The Warriors have one of the toughest schedules in Class 4A. Their opponents had a combined record of 71-36 last season. That ranks 2nd in Class 4A and 2nd in the AHSAA. With a little luck and some improvement, the Warriors could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region two this season. Dale County came up short of the playoffs last year but are optimistic of a return to the post season this year. The Warriors open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent Ariton on Friday, August 19 at Robert F. Zumstien Stadium. Last year the Ariton Purple Cats finished with an overall record of 10-2 and in second place in Class 2A region two. The Purple Cats lost in the second round of the Class 2A playoffs to Clarke County by a score of 27-20. Dale County and Ariton have met a total of 9 times on the football field. The Warriors have a 6-3-0 record against the Purple Cats. They last met in 2021 with Ariton winning by a score of 38-27. Dale County returns 4A All-State Senior defensive lineman Christian Ross. He was named to the honorable mention team last season. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
