 2022 Preview 


       Hillcrest completed the 2021 season with a 7-6 record. With their 4-2 region record and a second place finish in Class 3A region one, the Jaguars earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Hillcrest lost in the quarter-finals of the playoffs last season to a good Catholic Montgomery team by a score of 41-6.

       Since 2010, Hillcrest has gone a combined 80-63. Their 55.9% winning percentage ranks 25th in Class 3A over the past twelve seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Hillcrest has managed to compile a record of 134-144. Their 48.0% winning percentage ranks 35th in Class 3A and 209th in the AHSAA.




       The Jaguars will be under the direction of new head football coach Harry Crum as they enter the 2022 season.  

       Coach Crum's overall record as a head football coach in seventeen season stands at 73-105 (41.0%). Over the course of his career, Coach Crum's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of nine times .

       The Hillcrest Jaguars will play in Class 3A region one during the 2022 season.

       The Jaguars should be in contention for a playoff spot in region one this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game. They have reached the playoffs every year since 2012 and will once again be in the hunt for a spot in 2022.

       The Jaguars open the 2022 season at home against non-region opponent T.R. Miller on Friday, August 19 at Brooks Memorial Stadium. Last year the T.R. Miller Tigers finished with an overall record of 10-3 and in first place in Class 3A region one. The Tigers lost in the quarter-finals round of the Class 3A playoffs to Montgomery Academy by a score of 28-0.

       Hillcrest and T.R. Miller have met a total of 25 times on the football field. The Jaguars have a 2-23-0 record against the Tigers. They last met in 2021 with T.R. Miller winning by a score of 20-0.
