Oak Mountain completed the 2021 season with a 7-5 record. With their 4-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 7A region three, the Eagles earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Oak Mountain reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to Thompson by a score of 45-7. Since 2010, Oak Mountain has gone a combined 58-70. Their 45.3% winning percentage ranks 23rd in Class 7A over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 23 seasons, Oak Mountain has managed to compile a record of 110-132. Their 46.0% winning percentage ranks 23rd in Class 7A and 231st in the AHSAA. The Eagles are led by head coach Tyler Crane who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 7-5 record in his first season at Oak Mountain. Under his direction the Eagles have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Crane. Coach Crane's overall record as a head football coach in one season stands at 7-5 (58.3%). After back to back winning seasons the Eagles have high hopes of making it three in a row. It would be a first for the program. The Oak Mountain Eagles will play in Class 7A region three during the 2022 season. The Eagles will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region three this season. The Eagles open the 2022 season at home against non-region opponent Northridge on Friday, August 19 at Heardmont Park Sportsplex/Eagle Stadium. Last year the Northridge Jaguars finished with an overall record of 7-4 and in fourth place in Class 6A region four. The Jaguars lost in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs to Opelika by a score of 45-20. Oak Mountain and Northridge have met a total of 4 times on the football field.
