2022 Preview | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Red Level completed the 2021 season with a 4-5 record. Last year Red Level just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 1A region one with a 3-4 region record. The Tigers have not qualified for the playoffs since the 2010 season and would love to end that streak this year. Red Level was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Tigers want to be competitive. They only averaged 17.8 points a game. Since 2010, the Red Level football program has struggled with a record of 27-92. Over the past 25 seasons, Red Level has managed to compile a record of 105-159. Their 40.0% winning percentage ranks 40th in Class 1A and 288th in the AHSAA. The Tigers are led by head coach Kenny Skipper who is entering his sixth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 12-36 over the past five seasons at Red Level. The Tigers have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Skipper. Coach Skipper's overall record as a head football coach in five season stands at 12-36 (25.0%). The Red Level Tigers will play in Class 1A region two during the 2022 season. Following realignment, the Tigers remain in 1A but move from region one over to region two. With a little luck and some improvement, the Tigers could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region two this season. Red Level has failed to qualify for the playoffs since 2010 but hope to return to the post season this year. The Tigers open the 2022 season on the road against region opponent Florala on Friday, August 26 at Matthews Stadium. Last year the Florala Wildcats finished with an overall record of 3-7 and in fifth place in Class 1A region one. The Wildcats closed out the regular season with a loss to Providence Christian by a score of 33-20. Red Level and Florala have met a total of 70 times on the football field. The Tigers have a 28-42-0 record against the Wildcats. They last met in 2021 with Florala winning by a score of 14-0. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
