2022 Preview | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Rehobeth completed the 2021 season with a 4-6 record. Last year Rehobeth finished sixth in Class 5A region two with a 1-5 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. The Rebels last playoff victory came during the 2005 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win. Rehobeth was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Rebels want to be competitive. They only averaged 15.7 points a game. Since 2010, the Rehobeth football program has struggled with a record of 37-85. Over the past 25 seasons, Rehobeth has managed to compile a record of 103-157. Their 40.0% winning percentage ranks 40th in Class 5A and 289th in the AHSAA. The Rebels are led by head coach Pate Harrison who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 11-10 over the past two seasons at Rehobeth. Under his direction the Rebels have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Harrison. Coach Harrison's overall record as a head football coach in nine season stands at 65-37 (63.7%). Over the course of his career, Coach Harrison's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of seven times and won two region championships. The Rehobeth Rebels will play in Class 5A region two during the 2022 season. Overall, the region is among the weakest in the state. Qualifying for one of the playoffs spots could be a little easier. It will be an uphill battle for the Rebels if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region two this season. The Rebels open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent Wicksburg on Friday, August 26 at Panther Stadium. Last year the Wicksburg Panthers finished with an overall record of 7-4 and in third place in Class 3A region two. The Panthers lost in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs to Trinity by a score of 51-23. Rehobeth and Wicksburg have met a total of 44 times on the football field. The Rebels have a 36-8-0 record against the Panthers. They last met in 2021 with Wicksburg winning by a score of 17-6. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
