2023 Preview | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Daleville finished the 2022 season with a disappointing 3-7 record. Last year Daleville finished seventh in Class 3A region two with a 2-6 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. Daleville was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Warhawks want to be competitive. They only averaged 18.7 points a game. The Warhawks would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 3-17 record. Since 2010, Daleville has gone a combined 73-66. Their 52.5% winning percentage ranks 29th in Class 3A over the past thirteen seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Daleville has managed to compile a record of 140-130. Their 52.0% winning percentage ranks 29th in Class 3A and 170th in the AHSAA. The Warhawks are led by head coach Will Garner who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 3-17 over the past two seasons at Daleville. The Warhawks have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Garner. The Warhawks will need to win a few more games this fall if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region two this season. The Warhawks open the 2023 season at home against non-region opponent Goshen on Friday, August 25 at Warhawk Stadium. Last year the Goshen Eagles finished with an overall record of 6-4 and in fifth place in Class 2A region three. Daleville and Goshen have met a total of 11 times on the football field. The Warhawks have a 6-2-3 record against the Eagles. They last met in 2022 with Goshen winning by a score of 38-19. Daleville lost 3A All-State defensive lineman Jeremiah Moore to graduation. He was named to the second team last season. The Warhawks return 3A All-State Senior athlete Omarion Pinckney. He was named to the first team last season. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
