Dora completed the 2022 season with a 8-4 record. Last year Dora captured the region five title and a number one seed in the Class 4A playoffs. They finished region play with a 6-1 record. It was the first region championship for the Bulldogs since the 2012 season. Dora reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to Randolph by a score of 47-37. Since 2010, Dora has gone a combined 73-73. Their 50.0% winning percentage ranks 31st in Class 4A over the past thirteen seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Dora has managed to compile a record of 135-142. Their 49.0% winning percentage ranks 31st in Class 4A and 203rd in the AHSAA. The Bulldogs are led by head coach Chavis Williams who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 14-9 over the past two seasons at Dora. Under his direction the Bulldogs have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have won one region crown with Coach Williams. Over the course of his career, Coach Williams' teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of three times and won one region championship. The Bulldogs enter the 2023 season riding a 5 game regular season winning streak. The Bulldogs are considered one of the favorites for the region five championship this season and a home game in the first round of the playoffs. QB Kesean Pryor will be returning after completing 119 of 186 passes for 1,887 yards last season along with 18 touchdowns. Pryor also rushed for another 1,234 yards and scored 15 TDs in 2022. Receiver Josh Williams will return after catching 34 passes good for 672 yards and 4 TDs as a junior last season. The Bulldogs open the 2023 season on the road against non-region opponent Winfield on Thursday, August 24 at Estes Hudson Stadium. Last year the Winfield Pirates finished with an overall record of 9-2 and in second place in Class 3A region five. The Pirates lost in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs to Geraldine by a score of 24-8. Dora and Winfield have met a total of 4 times on the football field.
