2024 Preview | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Tharptown finished the 2023 season with a disappointing 1-9 record. Last year Tharptown finished seventh in Class 2A region eight with a 0-6 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. The Wildcats lost as many games as in any season since 2017. The defense allowed a team record 534 points last season. The Wildcats have never qualified for a playoff spot and would love to break that streak this season. The Wildcats have never won a playoff game in the school's history. They would like to break through and pick up that first post season victory in 2024. The offense struggled putting points on the score board as Tharptown averaged scoring just 11.1 points a game. The Wildcats also struggled on the defensive side of the football as they found little success in stopping opposing offenses and allowed an average of 53.4 points a game. The Wildcats would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 3-17 record. Since 2010, the Tharptown football program has struggled with a record of 30-108.
