 2024 Preview 


       Rogers completed the 2023 season with a 4-6 record. Last year Rogers just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 4A region seven with a 3-4 region record.

       Since 2010, Rogers has gone a combined 85-70. Their 54.8% winning percentage ranks 24th in Class 3A over the past fourteen seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Rogers has managed to compile a record of 148-127. Their 54.0% winning percentage ranks 26th in Class 3A and 161st in the AHSAA.

Head Coach:
       The Pirates are led by head coach Daniel Garrett who is entering his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 16-16 over the past three seasons at Rogers. Under his direction the Pirates have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Garrett. Over the course of his career, Coach Garrett's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times .

Season Outlook:

       The Rogers Pirates will play in Class 3A region seven during the 2024 season. The Pirates may find the schedule slightly easier this season with the move down in classification from Class 4A to 3A. They will compete in region seven this year.

      

       The Rogers Pirates missed the playoffs last season with a midseason four game losing streak in region play. Can they get back to the post season in 2024? The move down to 3A may help a little and they will be fighting Clements, Colbert County and Elkmont for the last two spots after Mars Hill and Lauderdale County.

    The Pirates could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region seven this season with a few breaks and a little improvement. Rogers came up short of the playoffs last year but are optimistic of a return to the post season this year.

Season Opener:
       The Pirates open the 2024 season on the road against non-region opponent Wilson on Friday, August 23 at Ralph Thompson Stadium. Last year the Wilson Warriors finished with an overall record of 1-9 and in eighth place in Class 4A region seven. The Warriors closed out the regular season with a loss to Lawrence County by a score of 42-8.

       Rogers and Wilson have met a total of 49 times on the football field. The Pirates have a 26-23-0 record against the Warriors. They last met in 2023 with Rogers winning by a score of 45-0.
