2024 Preview | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Vinemont completed the 2023 season with a 4-7 record. With their 3-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 3A region seven, the Eagles earned a spot in the playoffs in 2023. Vinemont's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Sylvania by a score of 41-0. The Eagles last playoff victory came during the 1993 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win. Since 2010, Vinemont has gone a combined 53-91. Their 36.8% winning percentage ranks 46th in Class 3A over the past fourteen seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Vinemont has managed to compile a record of 109-148. Their 42.0% winning percentage ranks 42nd in Class 3A and 274th in the AHSAA. Head Coach: The Eagles are led by head coach Stephen Robinson who is entering his eighth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 29-45 over the past seven seasons at Vinemont. Under his direction the Eagles have qualified for the playoffs a total of four times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Robinson. Season Outlook: The Vinemont Eagles will play in Class 3A region five during the 2024 season. Following realignment, the Eagles remain in 3A but move from region seven over to region five. The Eagles have reached the playoffs in each of the past four seasons something they had not done since the 1990 football season. Coach Robinson would like to improve upon last year's 4-7 record and continue to build on the playoff streak in 2024. The Eagles could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region five this season with a few breaks and a little improvement. Season Opener: The Eagles open the 2024 season at home against non-region opponent Falkville on Friday, August 23 at Eagle Stadium. Last year the Falkville Blue Devils finished with an overall record of 4-6 and in fifth place in Class 2A region eight. The Blue Devils closed out the regular season with a loss to Winston County by a score of 27-6. Vinemont and Falkville have met a total of 46 times on the football field. The Eagles have a 26-20-0 record against the Blue Devils. They last met in 2023 with Falkville winning by a score of 26-20. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
