2016 Preview

       Last year Lynn finished sixth in Class 1A region 6 with a 1-5 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

       The Bears would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 2-17 record. Since 2010, Lynn has gone a combined 30-34. Their 47.0% winning percentage ranks 26th in Class 1A over the past six seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Lynn has managed to compile a record of 156-126. Their 55.0% winning percentage ranks 15th in Class 1A and 135th in the AHSAA.

       The Bears are led by head coach Calvin Aldridge who is entering his first season at the helm. His team finished with a 1-9 record in his first season at Lynn. The Bears have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Aldridge.

       Coach Aldridge's overall record as a head football coach in seven seasons stands at 18-54 (25.0%). Over the course of his career, Coach Aldridge's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of three times .



      The Lynn Bears will play in Class 1A region 7 during the 2016 season. Following realignment, the Bears remain in 1A but move from region 6 over to region 7.

       This season, the Bears will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in Region 7.

       The Bears open the 2016 season at home against non-region opponent Brilliant on Friday, August 19 at Posey Field. Last year the Brilliant Tigers finished with an overall record of 0-10 and in seventh place in Class 1A region 6. The closed out the regular season with a loss to R.A. Hubbard by a score of 33-13.

       Lynn and Brilliant have met a total of 54 times on the football field. The Bears have a 30-23-1 record against the Tigers. They last met in 2023 with Lynn winning by a score of 63-6.
