Bibb County completed the 2017 season with a 11-2 record. Last year Bibb County captured the region three title and a number one seed in the Class 5A playoffs. They finished region play with a 7-0 record. Bibb County lost in the quarter-finals of the playoffs last season to a good UMS-Wright team by a score of 31-7. The Choctaws won as many games as in any season since 2011. Since 2010, Bibb County has gone a combined 69-26. Their 73.0% winning percentage ranks 5th in Class 5A over the past eight seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Bibb County has managed to compile a record of 152-117. Their 56.0% winning percentage ranks 25th in Class 5A and 136th in the AHSAA. The Choctaws are led by head coach Matt Geohagan who is entering his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 26-10 over the past three seasons at Bibb County. Under his direction the Choctaws have qualified for the playoffs a total of three times. They have won three region crowns with Coach Geohagan. Coach Geohagan's overall record as a head football coach in three season stands at 26-10 (72.2%). The Bibb County Choctaws will play in Class 5A region three during the 2018 season. The Choctaws enter the 2018 season riding a 8 game regular season winning streak. They have won 6 straight games on their home turf at Choctaw Stadium. The Choctaws should be considered one of the favorites for the region three championship this season and a home game in the first round of the playoffs. The Choctaws open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent Greensboro on Friday, August 24 at Choctaw Stadium. Last year the Greensboro Raiders finished with an overall record of 4-6 and in fifth place in Class 4A region four. The Raiders closed out the regular season with a loss to Carver Birmingham by a score of 36-8. Bibb County and Greensboro have met a total of 45 times on the football field. The Choctaws have a 27-18-0 record against the Raiders.
