 2018 Preview 


       Davidson completed the 2017 season with a 7-4 record. With their 6-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 7A region one, the Warriors earned a spot in the playoffs in 2017. Davidson's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Auburn by a score of 23-7.

       The defense was very stingy last season as Davidson ranked 9th in the AHSAA. The defense allowed only 10.2 points a game.

       Since 2010, Davidson has gone a combined 56-31. Their 64.0% winning percentage ranks 10th in Class 7A over the past eight seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Davidson has managed to compile a record of 160-105. Their 60.0% winning percentage ranks 13th in Class 7A and 96th in the AHSAA.




       The Warriors will be under the direction of new head football coach Shawn Smith as they enter the 2018 season.

       The Davidson Warriors will play in Class 7A region one during the 2018 season.

       The Warriors should be in contention for a playoff spot in region one this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game.

       The Warriors open the 2018 season on the road against non-region opponent Meridian MS on Friday, August 24.

       This will be the second meeting between Davidson and Meridian MS on the football field. The Warriors have a 0-1-0 record against Meridian MS. They last met in with

       Davidson returns 7A All-State  kicker Joe Montano. He was named to the second team last season. The Warriors also return  running back Kolbe Blunt. He was named to the second team.
