2018 Preview

       Hatton finished the 2017 season with a disappointing 2-8 record. Last year Hatton finished sixth in Class 2A region eight with a 1-5 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

       The Hornets lost as many games as in any season since 2007. The Hornets last playoff victory came during the 2002 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win.

       Since 2010, Hatton has gone a combined 30-51. Their 37.0% winning percentage ranks 40th in Class 2A over the past eight seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Hatton has managed to compile a record of 110-137. Their 44.0% winning percentage ranks 37th in Class 2A and 244th in the AHSAA.

       The Hornets are led by head coach Denton Bowling who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 6-14 over the past two seasons at Hatton. The Hornets have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Bowling.

       Coach Bowling's overall record as a head football coach in two season stands at 6-14 (30.0%).

       The Hatton Hornets will play in Class 2A region seven during the 2018 season. Following realignment, the Hornets remain in 2A but move from region eight over to region seven.

       This season, the Hornets will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region seven.

       The Hornets open the 2018 season on the road against non-region opponent West Morgan on Friday, August 31 at Rebels Stadium. Last year the West Morgan Rebels finished with an overall record of 10-2 and in first place in Class 3A region eight. The Rebels lost in the second round of the Class 3A playoffs to Sylvania by a score of 48-21.

       Hatton and West Morgan have met a total of 31 times on the football field. The Hornets have a 15-15-1 record against the Rebels. They last met in 2007 with West Morgan winning by a score of 39-7.
