West End finished the 2017 season with a disappointing 3-7 record. Last year West End just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 2A region seven with a 2-4 region record. Since 2010, West End has gone a combined 25-58. Their 30.0% winning percentage ranks 49th in Class 2A over the past eight seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, West End has managed to compile a record of 126-133. Their 49.0% winning percentage ranks 30th in Class 2A and 202nd in the AHSAA. The Patriots are led by head coach Kyle Davis who is entering his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 17-25 over the past four seasons at West End. Under his direction the Patriots have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Davis. Coach Davis' overall record as a head football coach in eleven season stands at 44-69 (38.9%). Over the course of his career, Coach Davis' teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of three times . The West End Patriots will play in Class 2A region six during the 2018 season. Following realignment, the Patriots remain in 2A but move from region seven over to region six. It will be an uphill battle for the Patriots if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region six this season. The Patriots open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent Susan Moore on Thursday, August 23 at Patriot Stadium. Last year the Susan Moore Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 4-6 and in fifth place in Class 3A region six. The Bulldogs ended last season on a positive note with a win over Cleveland by a score of 14-7 after failing to gain a playoff spot. West End and Susan Moore have met a total of 44 times on the football field. The Patriots have a 24-20-0 record against the Bulldogs.
