 2022 Preview

Autaugaville completed the 2021 season with a 6-4 record. Last year Autaugaville just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 1A region four with a 2-4 region record.

Since 2010, Autaugaville has gone a combined 53-70. Their 43.1% winning percentage ranks 31st in Class 1A over the past twelve seasons.

Over the past 25 seasons, Autaugaville has managed to compile a record of 141-131. Their 52.0% winning percentage ranks 22nd in Class 1A and 166th in the AHSAA.

The Eagles are led by head coach Javaris Jackson who is entering his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 18-22 over the past four seasons at Autaugaville. The Eagles have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Jackson.

Coach Jackson's overall record as a head football coach in ten season stands at 31-69 (31.0%).

The Autaugaville Eagles will play in Class 1A region four during the 2022 season.

It will be an uphill battle for the Eagles if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region four this season. Unfortunately, Autaugaville finds themselves in a very competitive region with other playoff quality teams. They may need to pull off an upset or two to have any shot at the postseason. Autaugaville simply does not have the numbers to be competitive on the football field at this time. With just 50 students, the Eagles are one of the smallest schools playing the game and have little chance of being successful.

The Eagles open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent R.C. Hatch on Friday, August 19 at Bobcat Stadium. Last year the R.C. Hatch Bobcats finished with an overall record of 3-6 and in fourth place in Class 1A region three. The Bobcats lost in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs to Brantley by a score of 59-6.

Autaugaville and R.C. Hatch have met a total of 10 times on the football field. The Eagles have a 7-3-0 record against the Bobcats. They last met in 2021 with Autaugaville winning by a score of 32-14.
