 2022 Preview 


       Robertsdale finished the 2021 season with a disappointing 3-7 record. Last year Robertsdale finished seventh in Class 6A region one with a 1-6 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

       The Golden Bears have not qualified for the playoffs since the 2004 season and would love to end that streak this year. The Golden Bears last playoff victory came during the 2001 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win.

       Robertsdale was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Golden Bears want to be competitive. They only averaged 16.2 points a game.

       Since 2010, the Robertsdale football program has struggled with a record of 28-91.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Robertsdale has not won much with a record of 67-187. Their 26.0% winning percentage ranks 53rd in Class 6A and 368th in the AHSAA. The Golden Bears have struggled on the football field with only two winning seasons during this time. Their last winning season was 2001.




       The Golden Bears are led by head coach Kyle Stanford who is entering his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 8-21 over the past three seasons at Robertsdale. The Golden Bears have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Stanford.

       Coach Stanford's overall record as a head football coach in three season stands at 8-21 (27.6%).

       The Golden Bears return starting quarterback Henry Harvison and hope to improve on offense this season.

       The Robertsdale Golden Bears will play in Class 6A region one during the 2022 season. Robertsdale will face six opponents that reached the playoffs last season.

       This season, the Golden Bears will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region one.

      

       The Golden Bears open the 2022 season on the road against region opponent Theodore on Friday, August 26 at C.A. Douglas Field. Last year the Theodore Bobcats finished with an overall record of 10-2 and in second place in Class 7A region one. The Bobcats lost in the second round of the Class 7A playoffs to Central Phenix City by a score of 77-41.

       Robertsdale and Theodore have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Golden Bears have a 0-2-0 record against the Bobcats. They last met in with
