Daphne completed the 2021 season with a 5-5 record. With their 5-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 7A region one, the Trojans earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Daphne's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Central Phenix City by a score of 38-7. The Trojans hope to rebound after a down year. Last season they struggled winning just five games which followed a 10-2 record in 2020. Since 2010, Daphne has gone a combined 96-42. Their 69.6% winning percentage ranks 5th in Class 7A over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Daphne has gone a combined 226-79. Their 74.0% winning percentage ranks 5th in Class 7A and 22nd in the AHSAA. The Trojans have been successful on the football field with twenty-three winning seasons during this time. The Trojans are led by head coach Kenny King who is entering his seventh season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 42-24 over the past six seasons at Daphne. Under his direction the Trojans have qualified for the playoffs a total of five times. They have not won a region crown with Coach King. Coach King's overall record as a head football coach in six season stands at 42-24 (63.6%). The Trojans will be led by Saralnd transfer quarterback Gabe Reynolds who led the Spatans last season. With a couple of additions to the coaching staff the Trojans look primed for another great season in 2022. The Daphne Trojans will play in Class 7A region one during the 2022 season. The Trojans should be in contention for a playoff spot in region one this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game. The Trojans open the 2022 season at home against non-region opponent Saraland on Friday, August 19 at Jubilee Stadium. Last year the Saraland Spartans finished with an overall record of 10-3 and in first place in Class 6A region one. The Spartans lost in the quarter-finals round of the Class 6A playoffs to Hillcrest Tuscaloosa by a score of 24-16. Daphne and Saraland have met a total of 7 times on the football field.
