Whitesburg Christian finished the 2021 season with a disappointing 3-7 record. Last year Whitesburg Christian finished seventh in Class 2A region seven with a 0-6 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. No team at Whitesburg Christian ever won more games in a season than the three victories last year. The defense allowed a team record 381 points last season. The Warriors have never qualified for a playoff spot and would love to break that streak this season. The Warriors have never won a playoff game in the school's history. They would like to break through and pick up that first post season victory in 2022. Whitesburg Christian struggled on the defensive side of the football last year. The defense found little success in stopping opposing offenses as they gave up an average of 38.1 points a game. Whitesburg Christian is a relatively new football program having fielded a team only two seasons. They have managed a record of 5-15 over the past two years. The Warriors are led by head coach Jimmy Nave who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 3-7 record in his first season at Whitesburg Christian. The Warriors saw improvement from a 2-8 record the season before coach Nave arrived. The Warriors have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Nave. Coach Nave's overall record as a head football coach in fifteen season stands at 83-77 (51.9%). Over the course of his career, Coach Nave's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of five times and won four region championships. The Whitesburg Christian Warriors will play in Class 2A region seven during the 2022 season. This season, the Warriors will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region seven. The Warriors open the 2022 season at home against non-region opponent Woodville on Friday, August 19 at Whitesburg Christian Stadium. Last year the Woodville Panthers finished with an overall record of 0-10 and in seventh place in Class 1A region seven.
