With their 3-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 1A region 8, the Red Devils earned a spot in the playoffs in 2015. Vina's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Berry Fayette by a score of 38-14. Since 2010, Vina has gone a combined 11-50. Their 18.0% winning percentage ranks 52nd in Class 1A over the past six seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Vina has not won much with a record of 44-190. Their 19.0% winning percentage ranks 56th in Class 1A and 374th in the AHSAA. The Red Devils are led by head coach Luke Childers who is entering his second season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 7-14 over the past two seasons at Vina. Under his direction the Red Devils have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Childers. The Red Devils open the 2016 season at home against non-region opponent Mars Hill on Friday, August 19 at Red Devils Stadium. Last year the Mars Hill Panthers finished with an overall record of 2-8 and in sixth place in Class 2A region 8. The closed out the regular season with a loss to Shoals Christian by a score of 14-13. Vina and Mars Hill have met a total of 4 times on the football field. The Red Devils have a 1-3-0 record against the Panthers.
