Beauregard completed the 2021 season with a 4-6 record. Last year Beauregard just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 5A region four with a 2-4 region record. Since 2010, Beauregard has gone a combined 93-44. Their 67.9% winning percentage ranks 5th in Class 5A over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Beauregard has managed to compile a record of 156-116. Their 57.0% winning percentage ranks 16th in Class 5A and 124th in the AHSAA. The Hornets are led by head coach Justin Jones who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 4-6 record in his first season at Beauregard. The Hornets have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Jones. Coach Jones' overall record as a head football coach in nine season stands at 51-46 (52.6%). Over the course of his career, Coach Jones' teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of six times . The Beauregard Hornets will play in Class 5A region four during the 2022 season. With a little luck and some improvement, the Hornets could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region four this season. Beauregard has failed to qualify for the playoffs since 2018 but hope to return to the post season this year. The Hornets open the 2022 season at home against non-region opponent Selma on Friday, August 19 at Hornet Stadium. Last year the Selma Saints finished with an overall record of 5-6 and in third place in Class 5A region three. The Saints lost in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs to St. Pauls by a score of 36-0. Beauregard and Selma have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Hornets have a 2-0-0 record against the Saints. They last met in with Beauregard returns 5A All-State Senior athlete Kyan Maloy.
