 2022 Preview 


       Bullock County finished the 2021 season with a disappointing 2-7 record. Last year Bullock County finished seventh in Class 4A region two with a 1-6 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

       The Hornets have never won a playoff game in the school's history. They would like to break through and pick up that first post season victory in 2022.

       Bullock County was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Hornets want to be competitive. They only averaged 14.2 points a game.

       Since 2010, the Bullock County football program has struggled with a record of 25-94.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Bullock County has not won much with a record of 45-201. Their 18.0% winning percentage ranks 62nd in Class 4A and 389th in the AHSAA. The Hornets have struggled on the football field with only three winning seasons during this time.




       The Hornets are led by head coach Derrick Levett who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 2-7 record in his first season at Bullock County. The Hornets have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Levett.

       Coach Levett's overall record as a head football coach in one season stands at 2-7 (22.2%).

       The Bullock County Hornets will play in Class 4A region two during the 2022 season. The Hornets have one of the toughest schedules in Class 4A. Their opponents had a combined record of 76-42 last season. That ranks 3rd in Class 4A and 7th in the AHSAA.

       This season, the Hornets will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region two.

       The Hornets open the 2022 season at home against non-region opponent Keith on Friday, August 19 at Bryant Foster Field. Last year the Keith Bears finished with an overall record of 10-2 and in first place in Class 1A region three. The Bears lost in the quarter-finals round of the Class 1A playoffs to Brantley by a score of 20-14.

       Bullock County and Keith have met a total of 6 times on the football field. The Hornets have a 2-4-0 record against the Bears. They last met in 1974 with Keith winning by a score of 6-0.
